Vizag Port Signs Rs 300-Cr Deal With RVNL

Visakhapatnam: In a significant step taken towards improving traffic management and cargo evacuation ensuring seamless movement of road and rail traffic in its vicinity and the city critical converging areas. Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) on Thursday signed an MoU with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Government of India Enterprise.

The representatives of RVNL and VPA exchanged the MoU in presence of Dr . Angamuthu, Chairperson, VPA. The agreement pertains to the construction of a flyover bridge connecting Sea Horse Junction to the Dock area at Vizag Port.

Estimated cost of the project is approximately Rs300 crore. The flyover will eliminate 11 level crossings that currently obstruct traffic flow, enabling smooth cargo movement. It will facilitate efficient entry and exit for port-bound traffic, alleviating congestion.
